IASDR 2025 conference attandence
At the beginning of December, PhD Candidate Enne Lampe, within the Dramaturgy for Devices project responsible for research on designing service robots for the hospitality sector, attended IASDR 2025 in Taipei, Taiwan.
The theme of this years International Association of Societies of Design Research conference was ‘Design NEXT’. What is next for design as a discipline? Should it adapt to current technological advancements? Current emerging technologies might change the nature of future products and services drastically, which poses the question: Should design practices change with them?
Relevant questions in relation to Ennes research, wherein he aims to develop and evaluate design practices that can improve the embedding of robots into social work environments.
At the conference Enne had the opportunity to present his research plan to the design research community. Sharing our preliminary work within relevant fields helps ensure the output of our projects is relevant and impactful. Besides valuable feedback from experts within the field Enne got embedded himself. By making new connections in the design research community Enne got to expand his network and gain valuable insights into how and where we can contribute to the discipline of design with the work we do in Dramaturgy for Devices.
